Put aside your bulky projects and knit something lighter for the warmer days ahead! Join knitter, designer, teacher, and author Donna Druchunas for a class on knitting cables, using a pattern for fingerless mitts. The pattern for Bavarian Byways mitts uses Bavarian Twisted Traveling stitches that curve like a scenic road through the countryside. They are stretchy and cozy and just right for still-cool spring days.
Knitters should bring a skein of fingering weight yarn (approx. 200 yards) and a set of US size 1.5 (2.5mm) double pointed needles.
A cable needle is optional. Donna will demonstrate techniques for working stitches with and without a cable needle.

*NOTES: Wool or wool-blend yarn is best for the pattern being worked, but acrylic can be used.
For knitters who prefer circular needles, the mitts can be worked on two circulars or with magic loop on one long circular needle.
